Ventilators Circuits

The ventilator circuit refers to the tubing that connects the ventilator to a patient. It includes any devices built into the circuit such as humidifiers, heaters, suction catheters and nebulisers and inhalers.

There are different types of circuits but the main ones are illustrated below together with the modes of ventilation and ventilators that use them. The list for this is not exhaustive, but refers to the main ventilators uses at JCUH General Critical Care Services.
